ULTRASOUND &
ECHOCARDIOGRAM
Ultrasound lets us look inside your pet's body without surgery, often during the same visit.
ABDOMINAL ULTRASOUND
Abdominal ultrasound helps us examine the liver, kidneys, bladder, spleen, stomach and intestines. It is useful for vomiting, diarrhea, weight loss, abnormal bloodwork or urinary problems.
ECHOCARDIOGRAM
An echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) shows the heart's structure and how well it pumps. We may recommend it if your pet has a heart murmur, coughing, tiring easily or fainting, or before anesthesia in a pet with heart concerns.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The scan is painless. Most pets need no sedation; some benefit from a little to stay calm. A small patch of fur may be shaved. We explain the findings and next steps with you.
